Poison Ivy! What Should I Do?
Take warm showers or baths, then rub Calamine lotion on the infected areas, this will take some of the itch out of the sore.

According to Wikipedia:

"calamine lotion is used as an antipruritic (anti-itching agent) to treat mild pruritic conditions such as sunburn, eczema, rashes, poison ivy, chickenpox, insect bites and stings. It is also used as a mild antiseptic to prevent infections that can be caused by scratching the affected area, and an astringent" [which is a cleansing agent]

This should give you some relief from your agonizing itching until you heal.
Reply:If you are on a pill med than you need to switch to a cream. My advice to you is keep your skin moist because if its dry it will only make it worse. The soap you are using might also irritate the ivy rash. And if you are taking any order skin medicines outside of that or are on any medicines for other things like a antibiotic then you might want to tell your doctor because that can interact with the ones you are taking know for the rash.
Reply:I have been told not to do this..but Hydrogen Peroxide works wonders. It might kind of sizzle and turn white, but it dires the rash up and takes away the itching. Rub it on hard 2-3 a day. Then sleep ith calamine lotion. It got rid of my rash in less than a week.
Reply:Benadryl will help the itching, and calamine lotion will help, too.
