(and ive been taking bendryl allergy pills, bur dont seem to be working?)

Is this poison ivy or just allergies?
Rashes limited to the facial area are contact in origin, most usually. It's doubtful you would get a poison ivy rash just on the face and not the hands, arms or legs- they are much nearer the plants than the face and would be contaminated first. I would suggest it is something you are applying to your face causing the problem. If you are female, consider the makeup and makeup removers, facials, etc you have used recently. If you are male, it may be the shaving cream or aftershave you are using. It could also be due to a soap, even soap left in items after washing will do it. Benadryl is a help in controlling symptoms only, it doesn't do the fighting because that's the job of the immune system. Benadryl helps counteract the histamines produced by the body in response to an invader, like pollen or viruses. It may be working as well as it can, if you are continuing to introduce the aggrivating cause on a regular basis there is only so much it can do. You may also have some sort of viral illness causing the facial rash. There is one common to small children called "slapped cheek" syndrome that causes similar symptoms. Viral illnesses and rashes usually pass all on their own within 10 days to 2 weeks, no matter what you do or don't do. If you are not running fever or having breathing difficulties, there's not much else that can be done. Check to eliminate topical irritants, otherwise you can opt to just wait it out. Avoid the potions and lotions, they tend to aggrivate things more than anything. If it doesn't improve in about a week, then go visit the doctor.
Reply:the best thing for u to do is go to the dermatologist cause it could be that new rash/staff infection MCRI or something like that. It is really deadly and possible contagious. Cause i caught the same thing, and they said if i didnt get to the emergency room the way i did, they said i would have died the next day. So plz to be on the safe side go to a dermatologist
Reply:it could just be a reaction to the medicine but it doesnt seem like poison anythang but stop the medicine and if that dont work go to the doctor.

GOOD LUCK
Reply:whatever it is...just put calamine lotion on it.
