Poison ivy?

Someone told me that if you feed your child poison ivy as a baby, it won't get it when it's older.

It sounds ridiculous, I know. I would never feed my baby poison ivy even if it wouldn't harm the baby. I looked on the Internet, and I can't find any evidence about it. It's just been bothering me. Does anybody know?

Poison ivy?
Makes me itch just thinking about it!!

Check out this website: http://www.wwmag.net/pivy.htm.

It doesn't refer to feeding poison ivy to a baby, but it does say that you can immunize yourself by eating poison ivy!!

I never heard of such a thing!!
Reply:You're right, it's ridiculous. Suppose you tried that and your baby had a reaction to it, I would hate to think what would happen. I wasn't fed it. I don't catch poison ivy either. It's just an allergic reaction. Just keep your children away from it and teach them as they grow what it looks like and what can happen if they touch it, also poison oak. I don't believe feeding it will help you build up a resistance. Forget that like you and I say, ridiculous question. Raise your child and teach him/her as they mature and give them lots and lots of love and lots of your time. What you sow now will flourish in them. Good luck.
Reply:I really think that person was smoking something. I have never, never heard of that. Ridiculous is right.
Reply:that can not happen. Impossable but i have posin ivy right now in th middle of witnter.
