Posion ivy?

Is it safe to work with very young children (around 8 months old) when you have posion ivy? I work in a church nusery and I know you can't catch posion ivy, but I am just trying to be safe and sure.

Thank you for your time

Posion ivy?
It is not possible to pass on the poison ivy to the children. The only risk to the children is the possibility of being exposed to the ooze from the rash when you are at that stage. Calamine lotion really helps dry up the rash and as long as you cover it up with loose fitting long sleeves you should be fine.

Again - not matter what you hear - once bound to your skin it does not spread. The only way to pass it on is if you have the oil on your clothing. Again - not contagious.
Reply:I read in a book about plant and i was reading about poison ivy and u can catch it on if that person has an open wound/cut or if they are allergic..but other then that u cant catch it anyother way i would wait until your poison ivy heals! u can read or ask a doctor to about it also!
Reply:As long as you wash your hand and keep it covered, you should be safe.
Reply:you really should see a dr. cause it can get into the blood stream if not treated and this can be very dangerous to you.
Reply:posion ivy is not catchy

technu soap helps with killing the oils so it donesnt spread

cold water not hot and whatever you do do not accept a steroid shot in the butt from a doctor.

I gained weight and became depressed after the shot....

it stays in the body for up to 2 years and i was a size 10 and now i am a size 16
Reply:Did you wash the area with soap and water?Did you put a topical ointment on it to relieve the rash? The only time it would be unsafe would be if you left it untreated with the poison ivy oil still on your skin.
