Posion Ivy?

I have poison ivy up my arms and hands and between my fingers.. and on my genitals.....

do you know any home remedys or anything to make the posion ivy go away faster?

Posion Ivy?
A lot of home remedies on the site below. If nothing seems to work, you will have to visit a doctor. I think there is a shot they give to dry it up quicker and stop the itch. I would try the home remedies first. I had a case of poison ivy so bad last year, that it actually made a scar around my arm and NO, the scar was not from scratching...it was just that severe. So don't wait too long if you can't get results from the info below. Good Luck!

Reply:For poison oak or poison ivy use plain table salt. Just wet the infected area and rub it with table salt for fast relief and to stop the spread. Use again if itching doesn't stop after the first application. Usually stops it cold and also stops the spread.

Take Zinc, helps to repair skin tissue damaged by poison ivy.

Another way to reduce itching is mixing 1 tsp. of water with 3 tsp. of one of these dry ingredients; cornstarch, baking soda, oatmeal or Epson salts. Make a paste and apply over the affected skin.

For cooling relief, apply over the itching area aloe vera juice, tofu or watermelon rind, they soothe and dry poison ivy immediately.

Calendula lotion es very good in reducing itching, limiting the spread of the rash and helping the body to heal faster.
Reply:Don't scratch it!!! That is how it spreads. I get poison ivy if I am down wind of it. Alveeno oatmeal baths are very soothing and calamine lotion %26amp; benadryl (sp) can help with the itch. I use betamethadone in a cream formula from the doctor. Good luck cause that sux!!!
