Ivy and creosote?

I am going to construct a garden fence out of reclaimed railwy sleepers however these have been creosoted in the past can i let ivy grow on them or will the creosote kill it

Ivy and creosote?
IVY IS A WILD PLANT %26amp; CAN GROW JUST ABOUT ANYWHERE...THEY`LL GROW LOVELY

MY DAD HAS IVY GROWING IN HIS GARDEN ON A TREATED TRELLIS..AS LONG AS THE SOIL ISNT CONTAMANATED THEY`LL GROW
Reply:It depends how long ago they were creosoted,if it was some time ago the ivy should be o.k.
Reply:Not much kills ivy..... the damned stuff.
Reply:CREOSOTE WILL NOT HURT PLANTS UNLESS YOU DRIP IT ON TO THE ROOTS BUT MOST PEOPLE USE FENCING PAINT NOW TO REDO FENCES AND GATES
