Ivy League?

How do you get accepted into an Ivy League University? What extra-curricular activities do they prefer?

Ivy League?
Ivy Leagues pick students from "the cream of the crop". What I mean is they want students that are the best of the best, personally, I am not a fan of Ivy Leagues, I think their demands for smarter and better students are stupid. Their are so many bright studnets out their who dont get in because they are either finacally in trouble or go to ultra-competivitve schools. What I suggest is do something out of the ordinary. Start a club in your school and manage it for 4 years during your high school carrer. Volunteer at different places such as Red Cross. Take challangeing courses such as AP Biology or Calculus BC. Try to do something that very few students venture into such as take a higher level French or Spanish class such as French IV or Spanish V.
Reply:the only extra curricular activities they prefer in candidates is being the sons and daughters of mommies and daddies who make boatloads of moolah and who went to the same college.
Reply:You don't have to be rich, but they aren't always great with financial aid, so be prepared to find help elsewhere. You need good grades. Try AP classes, but you need to keep your grades up in those too. Volunteer work is good, doesn't matter where. Clubs, well, anything that interests you. Don't do something just for the sake of college, do it because you like it. They do like sports too so if you play a sport, keep doing that too. Make sure you have a great essay when you apply. And, try to visit the school. Also, unless you plan on going into law, medicine, or something like that, I'd suggest skipping the IVY's and going to a reasonably priced school. HS's push for these things but you'll pay for it forever! I feel like I'll be paying my student loans until I'm 40!
Reply:It's not WHAT it's HOW MANY. You must have at least THREE extra-curriculars.
Reply:Hi!

Look the truth is that they want rich people, football players and nerds that's it . It's really hard to enter but I f you have faith Good luck Sweety.
Reply:Lots of A and B
Reply:Since nobody cares to answer this one. You need to demonstrate a sport. The like to see you apply yourself in Student Government. Clubs are nice but they like to see that you take charge so they want to see you have apresidency of those clubs. You should do some civic service or charity work. Foreign languages are essential. It is like this and I think they tell you this still, they get to choose from the best of the best and what they are trying to do in doing so is create a mixture of cultures that works well together, that is used to being social and interactive and can grow as a group. Be prepared to write an essay and make sure it expresses the real you.
Reply:Sorry, but if you're poor, you're not sexy enough to be accepted into an Ivy League school.

Being poor isn't hot, it's like ugly.

Thanks for the points, gorgeous.
