Ivy League Chance?

Is there a possibility of getting accepted to an Ivy Lea. school and if so, where would be my best bet so that I can narrow my applications to those schools.

- 30 ACT (a weak point)

- class rank is 1/132 - valedictorian

- GPA = 4.0 GPA weighted = 5.0

highest possible level of classes offered - honors

- clubs

rotary interact, yearbook (technology editor), national honor sociey, St. Vincent DePaul, Saturday Scholars

-awards

elected among 600 students to participate in leadership conference, principals award, winner of Youth Salute, other leadership functions

-community service

volunteer at hospital, bring easter/christmas meals to poor each year, provide gifts at Christmas each year

- others

varsity tennis(captain), varsity golf, guitar, small enterprising lawn business

-employment (whether it matters)

Quarry Golf Course

- recs from 2 teachers and Sr. Manager of Budweiser corporation in st. louis

-the usual hopeful essay

Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Ivy League Chance?
The easiest Ivy League school to get into is Cornell, whose median ACT score is 28-32, so a 30 won't hurt you. (I'm just going to go down your list.) Rank obviously helps you. GPA seems just about perfect. You seem to be in a lot of clubs and have plenty of awards. For community service, I'd need to know how many hours you volunteered. That's as important as what you volunteered to do. Sports teams are a plus. Most schools require 2 recommendations, but a third isn't a plus or a minus. I am a bit curious about the way a college will react to seeing a minor with a recommendation from Anheiser-Busch, but I don't know your connection to the person who wrote the recommendation. As for your essay, I don't know what you wrote, so I can't comment.

Conclusion: Let me put it this way; I got into Cornell and my resume is nowhere nearly as impressive as yours. I can honestly say that you can definitely get into an Ivy League school.
Reply:Wow, do you care about finding a good fit, or do you care about the name? You might want to ask yourself that question before you ask other people what Ivy League school you have the best shot at getting into. I ended up getting into a pretty well-known Ivy League school (cough, cough), but I ultimately found that if I had decided to go there, I would have hated it.
Reply:what are your SAT/ACT scores, if there as high as your grades then you should have a chance of getting accepted. esp, if your valedictorian. congrats and good luck
